Participants successfully completing both the Introductory and Advanced Craniosacral Therapy Training Programs will receive a GRCI completion certificate. Nurses will also receive 120 contact hours.

The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute's Introductory Training Program is approved for 20 CE Credits by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute's Advanced Training Program is approved for 100 CE Credits (50 CE Credits each half of the training) by the NCBTMB.
The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute's Introductory Training Program is approved for 23.4 contact hours for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants by the New York State Education Department, Office of Professions. The Great River Craniosacral Therapy Institute's Advanced Training Program is approved for 101.4 contact hours for physical therapists and physical therapy assistants by the New York State Education Department, Office of Professions.
Program Overview:
The purpose of this program is: to give students an in-depth, highly personalized
training in Craniosacral Therapy and Somatoemotional Release; to help students
learn to listen with their hands, minds, and hearts to patients’ stories; to
teach students how to help their patients release and resolve physical,
emotional, and spiritual pain using CST; and to stimulate further interest
in this exceptional hands-on healing modality.
Educational Objectives:

Sketch the basic anatomy of the Craniosacral system and theoretical
background of CST

Perform melding while sensing the direction of energy flow between
student and a partner
-
Differentiate between the cardiac, respiratory, and craniosacral rhythms
-
Describe the role of fascia in body and be able to release
restrictions from pelvic, respiratory, and thoracic inlet transverse
diaphragms

Palpate the craniosacral rhythm
-
Perform a sacroiliac release and lumbosacral decompression with dural
tube traction

Release the nasal bone
-
Perform a frontal bone lift
-
Perform a TMJ/Mandible compression and decompression

Perform a maxillary lift

Perform a temporal ear pull

Perform a hyoid release

Perform an atlanto-occipital release with dural tube traction and
visualization

Restate absolute and relative contraindications to performing CST

Perform parietal compression and lift with dural tube traction

Discuss practical uses of simple CST techniques taught in this workshop—from
reducing pain and stress to relieving sinus congestion and anxiety

Perform fascial glide on superficial, mid-level, and deep vertical
fascial sheets

Practice remaining present for people undergoing powerful physical
and emotional releases from old trauma

Differentiate between active and inactive energetic lesions in the
body

Integrate the significance of facilitated segments in the spine

Release energetic lesions and facilitated segments

Assist patients in using their “inner healers” through dialoguing
exercise and in conjunction with hands-on CST work

Integrate basic dialoguing principles – such as asking open-ended
questions rather than yes/no questions – with hands-on work, utilizing
the CS rhythm to determine the significance of a patient’s unconscious
images

Integrate facilitating patients’ entering into unconscious trance
states with CST hands-on work

Practice helping patients resolve uncomfortable, chronic symptoms
by working to bring out the symptom’s underlying meaning

Completion Requirements:

Attendance at all sessions.

Completion of two individual tutorials with Dr. Wish (scheduled separately from the workshop
periods, though they may be the day before a workshop for people coming
from long distances).
